Benue APC leadership pledges cooperation with journalists

Chairman, Unity Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue chapter, Benjamin Omale, has expressed willingness of the party under his watch to maintain a cordial working relationship with journalists operating in the state to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

Omale who gave the assurance when he played host to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, caretaker/credentials committee leadership at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi, explained that the cordial working relationship would foster harmony for the overall development of the state.

He acknowledged the critical role journalists play by ensuring that people have access to credible information and commended practitioners in the state for their professionalism and invaluable contributions to the present administration, especially the balanced reportage various media organizations provided during the recent Local Government elections.

He urged journalists to always uphold the ethics of the profession through balanced reportage, assuring that the Alia administration which has recorded milestone in infrastructure, education, healthcare and security among others would continue to make Benue people proud.

In a remark, Secretary of the Unity Caretaker Committee of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Bem Angwe, assured that the committee would redouble its efforts to reach out to all stakeholders with the determination to reslove all crisis previously locking the party.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for the love demonstrated to the Benue APC by appointing a son of the state, George Akume as SGF and another as a quality minister well as setting up the Unity committee and given it a mandate to within six months ensure peace and bring back as a family aggrieved members.

Angwe confirmed that significant peace efforts has been achieved and promised that the committee is doing everything possible to ensure that APC in Benue remains one family and assured that the committee would continue to show love and be fair to all party members, reward all those who worked for victory of the party as well as ensure that aggrieved members are brought back to prepare for victory ahead of 2027 general election.

On his part, the NUJ caretaker and credentials committee chairman of the Benue council, Vincent Nyinongo, assured the APC leadership that journalists in the state would continue to promote programmes and policies of the Alia administration, appealing for support to enable the union conduct its election scheduled for next month.
