Candidates vying for the position of president-general of Ekiugbo community in Ughelli, Ughelli North local government of Delta State have promised to develop the community, if elected on February 24, 2024.
One of them, Mr. Clever Ohwobeno gave the assurance while presenting his manifesto before the electoral body of the community handed by Barrister Erhirhre at the community town hall on Tuesday, promised to make the community a better place.
Ohwobeno, while speaking on his four-point agenda crisse-styled as “BIDS”, promised that his government will focus on building enduring partnership with stakeholders and private investors, invest in human capital development that would revamp the education and health sector of the community.
He noted that his leadership will pay special attention on sports and insecurity that has bedeviled the community and the state at large with special interest to harness the repentant youths.
Among those contesting for the position of the president general of the community are, Mr. Freeborn Onotaniyohwo Okevwie and Comrade Irbude Friday Omohwo.
On his part, Onotaniyohwo said his leadership will ensure that all abandoned oil well in the community are restored, and revamp the education sector of the community in line with MORE Agenda of the state government.
Earlier, the electoral chairman, Barr. Erhire Brorhie assured a level playing ground for all candidates for both central executive and youth’s council elections.
He warned them to desist from all forms politics of calumny and pull-him-down syndrome capable of jeopardizing the election.
