A civil society organization, Grassroots Advocacy for Peace and Good Governance in Kebbi State has dismissed as mere political statement the single tenure pledge of the former Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi.
The national chairman of the organization, Comrade Usman Muhammad Anache made the statement in an interview with our correspondent in Birnin Kebbi, saying those raising dust from the north were there before President Bola Tinubu, but did nothing to the region in terms of human and capital developments.
Additionally, the civil watchdog chief said that the Sokoto/ Badagry federal road will no doubt boost the economic fortune of northern axis couple with the improved security in some parts of the region.
On Obi, he said he should be man enough to contest and not to promise single tenure because he is a Nigerian therefore has the right to contest but as it is now he has slim chances of winning in the north because coalition is dead on arrival as Atiku, Jonathan and Obi are jokers as far as 2027 elections are concerned.
