The member representing Ebonyi North West State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Education, Barrister Nwodo Aloysius Nwodom has empowered farmers across his constituency with a major distribution of farm inputs to enhance agricultural productivity this planting season.

The exercise, held at Odomoke Ishieke Primary School in Ebonyi local government area, featured the distribution of over 500 bags of fertilizer, 100 bags of treated rice seedlings, and more than 50 cartons of herbicides to local farmers.

The event was officially flagged off by the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Uchenna Igwe, who praised the initiative and commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for driving the state’s vision of food sufficiency.

He urged beneficiaries to put the inputs to proper use rather than selling them off.

Representing the Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government, the Chief of Staff, Barrister Obinna Iteshi, described Nwodo’s gesture as a timely support for local farmers and called on other leaders to emulate such impactful leadership.

Traditional rulers, including HRH Eze Hyacinth Awoke-Nwiboko of Ndiebor Ishieke and HRH Eze John Igboke of Onuenyim Agalegu, commended the lawmaker and assured him of effective utilization of the farm inputs in their communities.
