Governor Francis Nwifuru-led administration has revealed a plan to begin project watch campaign to discourage poor execution of government projects in the state.
The Special Assistant to Governor of Ebonyi State on Inter-Party Affairs, Comrade Sunday Nwambam, who disclosed this yesterday in an interview in Abakaliki, said his office has concluded a plan to launch the project watch program in the state.
Nwambam said his office overseeing the affairs of all political parties in the state would first begin with a radio interactive program called Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FON Project Watch.
According to him, this program would focus on the development projects of Governor Francis Nwifuru, highlighting his achievements since he assumed office on May 29, 2023.
He said this program becomes important because Governor Nwifuru administration’s programs and projects have been under-reported.
He noted that every Ebonyi community has benefited meaningfully from the present state government led by Nwifuru in terms of human empowerment and infrastructure development.
“I marveled over what I saw during the project inspection with my colleagues, I never knew that many state government projects are ongoing in the hinterlands, if you go there, in the Ebonyi North, Central, and South, you see road projects, school building projects, Ebonyi pipe factory now functioning, water projects and the endless human empowerment programs of the governor.
“If I’m not mistaken, it’s obvious that the governor’s development programs and projects are under-reported by the press.”
Nwambam explained that his principal has been embarking on all-inclusive leadership since assumed office. He cited Nwifuru’s human empowerment and infrastructure development programs, saying they are positively impactful on Ebonyians across the 171 wards in 13 council areas in the state.
“This is the only governor whose leadership is all-inclusive because he carries every political party along in the state. His Excellency empowers Ebonyians without any political sentiment, and that’s why his political manifesto is anchored on the People’s Charter of Needs. He embarks on people’s oriented projects in the state.”
He further described the infrastructure projects and empowerment programs of Governor Nwifuru as numerous and life-touching , which he said would distinguish his government in the country when completed.
He commended the governor for channeling his leadership efforts towards revitalizing the education sector through massive scholarships to the Ebonyi citizens and his move to reposition the health sector with a special interest in the state workers’ welfare, practical agriculture, business promotion, stable security, and other general and impactful interventions.
He said the radio program would avail individuals, regardless of their political affiliations, an opportunity to appreciate Governor Nwifuru’s transformation projects to ensure optimal performance in the state.
He advised the contractors handling government projects in Ebonyi to be more committed and fast in delivering quality jobs in the state. He said the radio program would spare no party contributing to poor project execution in the state.
He expressed optimism that the administration of Governor Nwifuru would bring an economic turnaround to the state after the completion of his eight years in the office as Governor of Ebonyi state.
