FCT PDP indigenes and non-indigenes at loggerhead of leadership style

All may not be well within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as it seems to be embroiled in a crisis of confidence emanating from alleged high-handedness and nepotism.

It was gathered that since emerging from its congress held on August 31, the party has been finding it difficult to maintain a united house.

According to sources within the party, some members of the party have been grossly violating the PDP’s constitution and electoral guidelines with impunity and the leadership of the party in FCT seems helpless or is allegedly turning a blind eye all to the alienation and consternation of some members of the party.

It was further disclosed that all major appointments and placements within the party structure has been filled by indigenes of Abuja while non-indigenes have been sidelined despite the fact that they constitute a major electoral bloc of the party in FCT, which will ultimately lead to a reversal of the good fortune enjoyed by PDP in Abuja.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “An indication of the near anarchy in the party’s rank is the current episode where a certain chieftain of the party who has been sanctioned by the party’s zonal executive but has refused to adhere to the decision of the disciplinary committee, composed of seasoned and experienced politicians in the party.

Speaking further, the source alleged that the former senator representing the FCT, Senator Philip Aduda, who is the presumed leader of the party in Abuja has been dictatorial and unwilling to institute an inclusive leadership style which is escalating an already dire situation.
