A non-governmental organisation based in Kebbi State, Nafisa Nasir Charity Development Foundation, NANAS, says it will enrol 3,000 people into Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, KECHEMA, scheme, and will train at least 1,000 women and youth on different skills.
Chairman of the foundation, Alhaji Aminudeen Attahiru Nasarawa, made this known during a courtesy call on the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Muhammad Samaila-Mera, in Argungu on Thursday.
He said,” NANAS Foundation of Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, will, in collaboration with KECHEMA, enrol 3,000 people into the KECHEMA health insurance scheme across the four LGAs of Argungu Emirate.
“The aim is to facilitate easy access to healthcare services for those in need and to advance the healthcare delivery to all, particularly women in the state.
“Additionally, we plan to empower 1,000 women and youth by equipping them with training in various skills and provide them with start-up kits/capital so they may become financially independents and labour employers in their community.”
Mr. Nasarawa stated that the training and enrolment would encompass 29 districts of four local government areas in the Argungu Emirate.
The chairman stated that the foundation would collaborate with the Argungu Emirate to ensure the realisation of the positive outcomes of the two programmes.
In his reaction, HRH Alhaji Samaila-Mera, reaffirmed the emirate’s dedication to laying the groundwork for the plan’s success.
“The Emirate always welcomes developmental projects, especially healthcare issues.
“We have been working closely with our Emirate Focal Person who is the District Head of Gulma, calling on caregivers to immunize their children and allow their wives to attend antenatal care for safe delivery”, he said.
Samaila-Mera, commended Gov. Nasir Idris and his wife, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris for the initiative, while describing it as ‘timely’.
