Gov idris commissions $1.19m FIFA grade stadium in Kebbi

Kebbi State governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, on Friday officially put to use a million dollar FIFA grade mini stadium in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

Idris who was represented by head of service, Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba Bena, said the essence of the stadium is to engage youths in meaningful sporting activities in the state to avoid idleness, which facilitates crimes.

He maintained that Kebbi State on her part provided four hectres of land and paid land owners compensation to the tune of N19,000.000 to boost grassroots sports activities.

He commended Dr. Sanusi Muhammad, the NFF General Secretary, for facilitating the citing of the stadium and Abubakar Chika Ladan, NFF executive committee member for making the project a reality.

He urged sporting youths to make good use of the stadium to attract revenue to the state through sports, saying world revenues come from sports.
