Gwer West of Benue State imposes curfew to enhance security

The Chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area in Benue State, Victor Ormin has imposed a curfew on the area to enhance security.

According to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Timothy Ajieje, Monday, in Makurdi, the Gwer West Council boss said movement of people in and out of the local government area is henceforth restricted to 6:30 pm.

According to Ajieje, the chairman whose directive takes immediate effect, also advised the people to comply with the stipulated time.

He further disclosed that the restriction will be reviewed as the security situation improves.

The curfew which the chairman noted is likely aimed at curbing the activities of criminals the statement added will equally ensure the safety of residents in the area.
