Hizbah Board visits Senator Wamakko, gets 10 motorcyles

The Management of Sokoto State Hizbah Board has visited Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko in his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto to formally introduce the board and seek administrative support and advice toward succeeding in its affairs.

Special Adviser to the Senator, Bashar Abubakar said the Board chairman, Dr. Rufa’i Usman Rungumi, told the senator that the board decided to pay a visit to inform him about their operations and success recorded so far, just after it was inaugurated 55 days ago.

Also commenting, the Director General of the Board, Mallam Nura Abdullahi Attajiri, explained that the Board is now fully on ground with all the backing of the laws governing its operations.

In his ward, the Commandant of the Board, Malam Usman Abdullahi Jatau, told the Senator that, since inception of the Board, a lot of successes have been recorded within the few days of its inauguration.

He mentioned that the board succeeded in arresting some substances that are not permissible to be sold in the state, correcting some wrong perceptions by some people in some parts of the state among others.

Usman said the board comprises three sections: administration, operations, and intelligence, with each headed by the unit head.

He further said the board is fully guarded by the laws, hence it will operate within the ambit of the law.

He thanked the Governor and the Senator for the support and re-establishing the Board which he said will no doubt reduce some unlawful activities taking place in the state..

He commended Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for his foresight and for delegating such important responsibility to them.

He said the board has been receiving many complaints from within and outside the state, and they are trying to resolve them.

Mallam Jatau solicited more support from Senator Wamakko for the smooth operations of the Board.

Speaking while receiving the Management staff of the board, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko expressed gratitude for the re-establishment of the board, especially during their time.

He described the work of Hizbah as simple as they are doing it for the sake of Allah, but difficult looking at the current situation when people are not ready to accept their wrongdoing.

He advised them to put in extra patience, and doggedness while discharging their duties.

He promised to forward their request to Governor Ahmed Aliyu for necessary action towards the success of the Board.

He later announced the donation of ten brand-new motorcycles to the board for effective service delivery.

The visit had in attendance many members of the Board.
