A powerful delegations of world health bodies comprising representatives of World Health Organisation, (WHO), United Nations Children Education Fund (UNICEF), and Rotary International, on Monday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Hauwa Usman Gwandu.
Late Hauwa was the Kebbi state coordinator of Cigari Foundation who slumped and died while on active service in Birnin Kebbi.
It was revealed that the deceased was in the height of a development partners meeting when she suddenly slumped and died.
The delegations on behalf of CDC presented a certificate of dedicated services to humanity executed by late Hauwa Usman Gwandu and a cheque of N3 million to her father Alhaji Usman Gwandu as a token of appreciation for her commitments and dedication to duty.
In his sober response amid tears, the father of deceased described her as God-fearing, dedicated and a selfless young lady who sacrificed her life to serve humanity while working with the international development partners.
“Her memory still lingers fresh in our hearts, we will continue to mourn and miss her as a courageous, God-fearing and true leader to her siblings. The visit and the token mean a lot to the family because it shows her services didn’t go in vain”.
He thanked them deeply for the condolence visit, saying the family didn’t take it for granted as it will go along way in cementing family relationship.
The delegation include Dr Nasir Bala Zurmi, Kebbi state coordinator WHO; Aminu Usman, Kebbi state field coordinator UNICEF and the representative of Rotary International. Prayers were offered for the repose her soul.
