The Jigawa State government has donated N2,000,000 to the family of SC Bashir Adamu Jibrin, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, who tragically lost his life while on duty in Shuwarin Market, Kiyawa Local Government Area.
The Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Bala Ibrahim, made the donation to the deceased’s wife at his office.
He expressed that this gesture aims to support the bereaved family and assist with the upbringing of their children.
Malam Bala Ibrahim advised the widow to utilize the funds wisely for the children’s education and welfare. He emphasized that the Jigawa State Government will always honor the officer’s dedication and courage in serving the nation.
Responding, CC Muhammad Kabir Ingawa, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State Command, praised the late officer and prayed for his soul’s repose, while commending Governor Malam Umar Namadi for the gesture.
On her part, the Widow, Zainab Muhammad Ahmed expressed gratitude towards the Jigawa State Government and assured that she would use the funds appropriately.
It would be recalled that, the slain officer was attacked and killed at Shuwarin Market while attempting to apprehend a suspect on the command’s wanted list.
