A civil society organisation, CSO, operating in Kebbi State, Initiative for Transparency and Justice, IFTAJ, has commended the senator representing Kebbi Central District, Muhammadu Adamu Aliero, for empowering his constituents.
The general secretary of the organisation, Comrade Usman Muhammed Anache, in a statement, said that part of their social responsibility include encouraging those poised to bring human and capital development to their people with intent to build their lives just as they objectively criticise leaders wanting in their primary responsibility.
The statement added that recently, the senator distributed empowerment items to the 10 local government areas he is representing at the upper chamber, which caught the attention of the CSOs.
Senator Aliero had distributed over 2,000 tailoring machines, water pumping machines for dry season farming, supported by ploughs and bulls.
Similarly, a total of over 300 tricycles were handed to youths as part of efforts to empower them to become self-reliant.
“We are pleased with the recent performance hence our reason to commend and encourage him to do more, and for others to emulate him so that our youths will stop roaming the streets in search of jobs or engage in anti-social behaviour such as drugs addiction and prostitution among others.
The group also charged him to continue to remain above board by focusing squarely on his primary assignment of law making and empowering his people.
