Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has topped the chart list of beneficiaries of presidential conditional grant scheme PCGS.
The Kebbi State focal person of the scheme who doubles as special adviser to Kebbi Governor on Presidential Conditional Grant, Alhaji Sadiq Abubukar Augie, has commended the Sole Administrator Birnin Kebbi Local Government and Chairman Association of Local Government of Nigeria(ALGON) Kebbi state Chapter Alhaji Muhammad Dahiru Nayaya Ambrusa for his support in enlightenment and logistics, which ensured successful enumeration of the applicants for the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme, conducted in April 2024.
Speaking in Benin City, the Edo State capital, shortly after their inauguration as member of the APC Edo State gubernatorial campaign council he expressed gratitude to the federal government for its various poverty alleviation programmes whose resultant effect is a sharp reduction in the prevailing rate of poverty in Nigeria.
The special adviser revealed that Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area tops the list of Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme beneficiaries out of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria a feat he attributed to the dedication, support and the commitment of the Sole Administrator Alh. Dahiru Nayaya Ambrusa.
He explained that arrangement has been concluded to collate and send data of applicants to fill the remaining quota allocated to Kebbi State in-line with Governor Nasir Idris’ vision of enviable standards for other states to emulate.
Speaking further, the focal person said Birnin Kebbi got 1784 beneficiaries to top the chart closely followed by Bayelsa state with 1348 beneficiaries hence the reason to commend the local government boss for providing an enabling environment and logistics support for the presidential scheme which designed to reduce poverty and hardship being faced by Nigerians
