The chairman, Kebbi State Local Governments Service Commission, Alhaji Ashiru Garba, said upon assumption of office, he met dumped files of no fewer than 300 dead staff from various local governments in the state.
In a statement signed by his personal assistant, Alhaji Faruku Alhaji, said all the files belonging to dead staff of over 300 were immediately cleared to enable families of the deceased staff to access dead benefits.
Similarly, Faruk added that the chairman also met stagnant staff awaiting posting and promotions where he posted at least 300 staff including departmental directors and as well promoted over 3000 local governments staff who are due for promotions in the local governments service, this he said intends to boost their morale and improve productivity at the grassroots level.
He stressed that since Ashiru came on board, he made sure local governments staff’s rights are protected at all cost to ensure no one tramples on their rights and get away with it .
On LGSC boss has also given recapitalisation grants to over 400 widows and petty women traders in the state for self-reliance which aimed to boost local economy and reduce poverty in the state.
