Kebbi NCWS chairperson, Hadiza, bags Gimbiyan Kola title

Chairperson of National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Kebbi State chapter, Hajiya Hadiza Muhammed Kola was on Tuesday conferred with a traditional title of ‘Gimbiyan Kola’ (Princess of Kola) by the district head of Kola, Alhaji Aliyu Bello Kola.

Presenting the appointment letter to her before crowd, the monarch said that the decision to confer the prestigious traditional title on her was as result of her hard work and huge contributions to the success of Kola village in all spheres of human endeavour.

According to him, the kingship of Kola was taken by one family who are not the original heirs to the throne of Kola district for over 50 years, but Hadiza Kola alongside Kebbi First Lady, Zainab Nasir Idris fought and returned it to the right persons.

He commended the governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris for bringing infrastructural development to Kola town through the constructions of Birnin Kebbi-Kola Road and schools’ upgrade.

“We are greatly indebted to Kebbi governor and his wife, Zainab Nasare Idris for paying attention to our town and my subjects”, he said.

Speaking shortly after receiving the appointment letter, the NCWS chief thanked the monarch for finding her worthy of the title saying the recognition of her efforts to transform her birthplace and town will encourage her to do more in terms of human investments and will also work hard to bring her people closer to the government.

“I have no words to express how happy I am that our father recognized me and my efforts which means he has noticed what I am doing to my people. I am so grateful “.

Kola was accompanied by her state secretary, Hajiya Maryam Kaoje, Mrs Hadiza Jega, Fatima Aliyu Usman and her other executive members.
