The apex women body in Kebbi state, National Council for Women Societies, NCWS, has called on Kebbi State Government to collaborate with them on their strategic plans for the year 2025.
Hajia Hadiza Muhammed Kola, the Kebbi state branch chairperson made the call in Birnin Kebbi in an interview with our correspondent shortly after their meeting convened to draw strategic plans of the women body for the year 2025.
According to her, the 2025 strategic plans seek to reinvigorate the state chapter with workable plans to positively impact people of Kebbi state particularly women who are the bedrock of socio – economic development and progress.
Among the strategic plans agreed on for the year include frantic efforts in pursuing the renewed hope agenda of Nigeria’s first lady Senator Remi Tinubu home gardening being coordinated by Kebbi first lady Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris.
The women body intends to undertake practical steps to ensure women in their husbands houses get the necessary awareness on home gardening through media engagements and advocacies on rural areas and hamlets across the state.
Kola emphasized the need for the state government to support the apex women body in accualising the strategic plans which include also standing firm against the girl child molestation, poor upbringing, syrup abuse and genital mutilations.
The strategic plans also seek to garner support for government to deliver dividends of democracy by empowering then, and to ensure strict adherence to the law which bans girls child school dropout due to societal beliefs.
“The 2025 will not be business as usual as the body will step up efforts to implement the strategic plans”.
The state women chief who decried lean funding from the government appealed for increased funds, operational vehicle and office accommodation which she said will boost the performance of the state secretariat.
While commending the Kebbi first lady Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris for her unquantifiable support to NCWS in Kebbi state,she call on women focused non governmental organisations, women entrepreneurs, market women and conventional women bodies to partner and/or collaborate with the apex women body in the state.
