Kebbi varsity dispels bandits attack rumours on campus

The management of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero, has debunked the rumour making the rounds that armed bandits have attacked the university campus.

Public relations officer of the university, Malam Mustapha Mansur Ango, said that there was no such attempt by armed bandits to attack the university, saying such unfounded rumour caused apprehension in the campus .

He added that the university under the leadership of Professor Bashir Ladan Aliero has taken adequate measures to safeguard the university.

“We don’t know where such rumours emanated from but we can confirm to you academic activities in the university are on top gear; no problem at all as our campus is well secured,” he said.

However, some armed men on Saturday suspected to be bandits stopped over and Aliero town on their way to some villages where they kidnapped one person and proceeded to Kambaza town under Gwandu local government killed one and abducted scores and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
