Abubakar Muhammed famously known as ABK is a young and vibrant author, his writings, over the years, in Kebbi State has impacted so many people which made him a literary force in the authorship space. Recently, Abubakar has turned his pen to the works of Kebbi governor, Dr Nasir Idris in an attempt showcase to the world how the governor is transforming and elevating the state capital to a mega city. He speaks to NationsPride’s HARUNA USMAN barely a week after his book titled “Mr Project” was launched in Kebbi state.
What informed your decision to write a book of this magnitude for Governor Idris?
I decided to write a book for Governor Idris because of his remarkable leadership and transformative initiatives in our dear state. His selfless efforts to improve the lives of our people have not gone unnoticed, and I wanted to acknowledge and celebrate his achievements in a meaningful way because I feel what people are writing on the pages of newspapers are not enough to bring out the huge infrastructural development he has executed just in less than one year. So I felt to write a book to show the country what he has been doing and to encourage to do more.
Why did you choose the name “Mr. Project” for your book?
I chose “Mr. Project” because Governor Idris is indeed a man of action, with numerous projects and initiatives aimed at developing our state and uplifting its citizens. The name reflects his hands-on approach to governance and his commitment to delivering tangible results hence the reason I titled my book “Mr Project”. But that has not watered down his philanthropic gestures to the people of Kebbi State who found him capable of stirring the state to greater heights.
Will people refer to your book for references and records?
I believe that my book will serve as a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning about Governor Idris’s vision, achievements, and legacy. As a keepsake, it will provide a lasting record of his contributions to our state, and I’m confident that people will refer to it for inspiration, guidance, and historical context.

What would be the positive impact of the book?
Firstly, it would raise awareness about Governor Idris’ philanthropic efforts and inspire others to follow in his footsteps. Secondly, it will provide a platform for reflecting on the importance of leadership, governance, and community development. Thirdly, it will contribute to a sense of pride and ownership among our citizens, as they witness the transformative impact of Governor Idris’ projects and initiatives.
The launching of the book attracted very important personalities particularly the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, what can you say to them?
Well Alhamdulilah , the launch was successful and we achieved our aim of bringing to the fore the very good works of our Governor. I am particularly grateful to Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, for coming and for extolling the good virtues of Dr Idris before the global space. I am also greatly indebted to the host, I mean our governor for making my work possible and I want to as well thank commissioners, special advisers and other top government officials who graced the occasion. Least I forget, the chief executive officer and managing director Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Alhaji Ahmed Umar was the sole sponsor of the book. He was behind the success of the writing and launching the book, therefore I am deeply indebted to him and I cannot thank him enough.
Any other literary work in the pipeline?
For now, I just want to relax my brain before I conceive yet another literary work.
