NFSS begins 4-day capacity building workshop in Abuja

The Nigeria Forest Security Services (NFSS) FCT Command has commenced a 4-day capacity building workshop programme for leaders of various levels of the command.

Declaring the workshop opened at the FCT command headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, the FCT Commander, Mr. Bawa Kyauta welcomed those in attendance and explained the purpose of the workshop to them.

According to him, “From first lecture, we would have formation Early in the morning we would have jogging exercises, and that is when our medical team would be around.

“This workshop is for the whole departmental heads in order to strengthen our command from the unit to the state levels.

“So, all these people are supposed to be here, so that we may enhance our knowledge on NFSS’ rules and regulations. It’s for us to combine the achievements and the objectives of the commander general of this organization”.

Kyauta said knowledge obtained from the workshop would help the officers in gathering information for sister agencies, and teach them more on how to detect crime, delay crime from happening, and also stop crime from happening.

He added that Nigeria Forest Security Service is well-structured, and not in competition with any existing security agency.

He appreciated the various leaders for coming to the workshop and urged them to pay attention to all the resource persons.

“Be patient with us as so many arrangements have been made especially for some of you that would be sleeping here.

“We all know that we are for the forest, and we belong to the forest. And I have this trust that our turnout would never be in vain”, Kyauta explained.
