He said the first component of the National Values Charter is the seven core Nigerian promises made by the country as represented by all elected leaders.

Another component is the seven citizen codes or citizens commitments to the Nigerian States saying it is the seven-point obligations of the citizenry to contribute to the nation.

“The seven core promises are Equality, Democracy, Entrepreneurship, Peace, Inclusivity, Freedom and Meritocracy”, enumerated Kurfi.

Babangida Kurfi similarly explained that while the seven citizens cores are citizens commitments to the Nigerian States reflects the dedication and responsibility that individuals owe to one another and their nation reads as Discipline, Duty of Care, Tolerance, Leadership, Accountability, Environmental Awareness and Resilience which is referred to as seven 4 seven campaign.

“Our nation confronts different set of trials, economy is struggling, insecurity haunts many regions, infrastructures in disarray and moral compass wavers in these challenging times.

“It is crucial to ignite the spirits of our citizens, remind them of our shared values and aspirations and rally them under common banner. This banner symbolises our collective strength and resilience, our new national anthem”, averred the director.

The main objective of the charter is it clearly defines the pathway to nationhood with the expected value orientation of both the government and the citizens, the reason why the sensitisation campaign would be conducted in the state and the 23 local government areas.
