The president of the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) MBA 2016/2017 Alumni Association, Mr. Ben Okonkwo, on Monday embarked on strategic courtesy visits to key university leaders to discuss plans for the upcoming alumni reunion and strengthen institutional relationships.
He visited Professor Uche Uwaleke, Professor of Capital Market and Director of the Institute of Capital Market at NSUK, at the university’s Liaison Office in Abuja. The discussions centered on the forthcoming 2025 NSUK MBA 2016/2017 Alumni Reunion scheduled for December 6, 2025.
Mr. Okonkwo used the opportunity to personally invite Professor Uwaleke to the reunion, noting that his presence would serve as a great motivation to the alumni body. The Professor’s expertise and contributions to the field of capital markets, as well as his continued engagement with former students, make him a valued figure within the alumni community.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Okonkwo paid a courtesy visit to Professor Adamu Akyala, Centre Director of the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Control Institute-NSUK
Professor Akyala graciously shared his rich experience and provided valuable guidance on effectively running an alumni association of this nature. His insights and encouragement were warmly received by the President and are expected to contribute significantly to the success of future alumni activities.
Mr. Ben Okonkwo expressed profound gratitude to both distinguished professors for their kind reception, valuable time, and continued support for the MBA 2016/2017 alumni body. He noted that such engagements underscore the strong bond between the alumni and the university’s academic leadership.
The visits reflect the alumni association’s commitment to maintaining active collaboration with NSUK and ensuring that the December reunion becomes a memorable occasion that strengthens professional networks and celebrates the achievements of the graduating class. The president praised the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman for establishing a Liaison Office in Abuja.
According to him, this will lessen the burden of students and potential students who would easily get responses to their university affairs at the liaison office rather than travel all the way to Keffi.
