Olorogun Engr. Matthew Onokpasa and his wife, Chief Mrs Brigid Onokpasa have both been honoured with the esteemed titles of Aghoghophia r’ovie and Ivie r’ovie of the Great Ogor Kingdom.
In a grand ceremony held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the palace of his Royal Majesty, Ovie of Ogor Kingdom, Okiemute O. Igere 1, who in company of his high chiefs conferred the prestigious titles on the Onokpasas for their impacts and contributions to the development of the Kingdom.
To commemorate this occasion, Chief Engr. Onokpasa awarded scholarships to eight outstanding students from various communities within the Kingdom. This generous gesture aims to promote educational advancement in the Kingdom.
The deserving beneficiaries include: Okotie Judith from Oviri Ogor, Favour Omakpokpoes from Edjekota Ogor, Gavis Enameguono Orhiunu from Ogor, Eretarhe Ogheneriobome from Igwre Ovie, Favour Martin Oghenetejiri from Oviri Ogor, Samuel Josephine from Otogor, James Oghenenyerhovwo Great from Edjekota Ogor and Princess Okiemute Onajite Igere.
Speaking on his title conferment, Onokpasa who attributed it to the will of God and the love of his people, promise to use it as a motivating factor to do even more. He said the scholarships will support the beneficiaries’ secondary education, contingent upon excellent academic performance.
