A governorship contender on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, in Benue State ahead 2027 general elections,Professor Sebastine Hon (SAN), has blamed increasing security challenges in Benue State on poor governance.
Hon made the criticism during the public presentation of a book titled “Understanding the Basics of Competitive Religion and Conflict Management in Pluralistic Society” held weekend,at Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi.
Hon explained that insecurity has prevented thousands of people from pursuing legitimate livelihoods, lamenting that the situation has also affected food security in the state and country.
He argued that the government’s inability to tackle worsening insecurity, especially during the rainy season, and poor governance should be enough reasons to show the present administration the way out.
The PDP governorship hopeful called on Benue people to rally round his candidature to navigate the state out of insecurity.
He described the book’s author, Dr.Terhemba Anaana as someone who has demonstrated great commitment to duty, expressing optimism that he would write more books to contribute to knowledge.
Dr. Anaana, the author, expressed appreciation to Professor Hon for his generous donation of N1 million, and other dignitaries who attended the occasion, urging God to bless them abundantly.
