Police recover 20 rustled cows in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has recover 20 rustled cows, while the suspected rustlers are currently at large.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer ASP Rufai Ahmad made this known while adressing newsmen on the recovery.

He said the 20 cattle and one donkey belonging to one man from Kware local government of the state adding that they were intercepted on their way Gada

He said the team of Anti-kidnapping Operatives attached to CID in conjunction with that of the SWAT acted on an intelligence report and intercepted yet to be identified armed cattle rustlers.

“Perceiving they were followed by security operatives, the rustlers took to their heels abandoning the animals to save their lives.

“After series of efforts to get the owner, on the 31st of January at about 10am, one Malami Hayatu frim Durbawa of Kware local government on hearing about the recovery came to CID and identified the cattle saying they were stolen from his house on the 14th of January by unknown persons.

 

The PPRO who spoke for the Command said investigation to arrest the hoodlums is still on.
