President Tinubu inaugurates GB Foods Tomato Factory in Kebbi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday inaugurated GB Foods Tomato Farming and Processing Factory at Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Commissioning the factory at Gafara village of Ngaski LGA, the president pledged to support both foreign and indigenous investors willing to invest in Nigeria.

This, according to him, is with a view to creating job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.

The President, who was represented by the Minister of Agriculture, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, said: “This is what we need especially at this period, because it will create job opportunities for the youths.”

While commending the giant efforts of the company for the job opportunities created, the president assured the readiness of the federal government to assist the company to create more jobs for the teeming unemployed in the area.

In his speech, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, lauded the efforts of the company for taking the bull by the horns.

He expressed appreciation that the project started during the reign of ex-Gov. Atiku Bagudu but completed during his tenure.

The governor assured the factory of an enabling environment to operate, adding that the state government was ready to partner with them to ensure that it operates to full capacity.

Gov. Idris expressed appreciation that the company had the highest number of out growers with a total of 3,335 out growers.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammad Idris, appealed to other investors as well as wealthy individuals to emulate the giant effort of GB Foods towards addressing the menace of unemployment in the country.

Earlier, the Director, Corporate Affairs of the company, Dr J. Teddy Ngu said GB Foods was cultivating over 1,000 hectres of farmland for the use of the company.
