As by-elections date for Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency draws nearer, a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and a former chairman of Dandi local government, Honourable Garba Salihu Dila Kamba, has called on the electorate who would cast ballots in the affected polling units to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure peace and victory for the people’s choice.

He noted that voters in the area should be allowed to choose who would represents them at the lower chamber even as he dispelled fear that power of incumbency would come to play saying that he believes the governor is a true democrat therefore will not meddle in the forthcoming election to favour the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Dila explained that, the party is set for the by-election as they have campaigned vigorously in all the nooks and crannies of the affected polling units of the federal constituency.

He charged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the state government to maintain neutrality during the conduct of the elections to guarantee peaceful, free, fair and credible elections adding that people of the area know who to vote and they hope the winner would be given his mandate regardless of his political party.

“We know Kebbi State governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, is a gentleman who respects the will of the people. We have no doubt he will allow peaceful elections and also believes in winner takes it all, so we are optimistic that he will do justice to us if we win the poll”, he said.
