Former president of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness over the passing away of former Yobe State governor, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim who died at the age of 75 in Saudi Arabia.
In a condolence message posted on his X handle, Saraki said the late Abba was a dedicated politician who made significant contribution to education, infrastructure and healthcare in his state of Yobe while he held sway.
The message reads: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
“It is with total submission to the Will of Allah (SWT) that I received the news of the passing of the first elected Governor of Yobe State and my colleague from the 8th Senate, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, fondly referred to as the “father of Yobe politics,” at the age of 75.
“Senator Bukar Ibrahim was a renowned politician known for his dedication to the welfare of his constituents. He made significant contributions to education, infrastructure, and healthcare, all aimed at improving the quality of life in Yobe State.
“As the nation mourns his passing, I extend my condolences to his family, friends, associates and the people of Yobe State. I pray that Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings and grants him a place in Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen”.
