Sen Wamakko sympatises with families of boat mishap victims

With regard to the boat mishap that occured on Sunday, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has in the early hours of Monday sympathized with the families of the victims of the boat mishap which resulted in the death of some people on-board at Dundaye Village of Wamakko local government area of Sokoto state.

Senator Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, was shocked upon hearing the news of the boat’s mishap, saying the incident was tragic but, believed that it was from God Almighty.

Senator Wamakko, while commiserating with the families of the deceased persons, called on the people around the area to take extra caution while crossing the river in the canoes, especially now that the river is overflowing.

In a statement issued to newsmen by the Media aide to Senator Wamakko, Bashar Abubakar, the Senator further prayed to Allah the Almighty to forgive the sins of the deceased even as he prayed for the speedy recovery of the surviving ones.

It could be recalled that a canoe was said to have been loaded with people en route to their farms on Sunday morning, capsized while in the middle of the river, which, as a result, was said to have caused the death of an unspecified number of people, as many victims were also rescued by the swimmers in the area.
