The Sokoto State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, has congratulated the former NUJ President, Chief Chris Isiguzo, for the successful conduct of the 2024 Triennial Delegate Conference held in Owerri, Imo State.
The press statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary Dalhatu Abdullahi S/Magori and Muhammad Nasir Bello said this remarkable event culminated in the overwhelming victory of the former Deputy National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya.
The Sokoto NUJ said, the victory of Comrade Alhassan Yahaya is a well-deserved and historic milestone, as the North East Zone makes history by producing a President for the first time the union’s records.
“We applaud Comrade Isiguzo for his exemplary leadership, meticulous planning, and dedication throughout the process, ensuring that this election stands as the most credible and successful transition in NUJ’s history. Congratulations on this monumental achievement!
“As the Sokoto Council prays for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon the leadership of Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, we also extend heartfelt congratulations to the Imo State Council for successfully hosting the 8th Triennial Delegate Conference, tagged “Owerri 2024.”
“Our commendation also goes to the Credentials Committee for their outstanding work in ensuring a transparent and seamless process”.
Sokoto NUJ urged the entire NUJ family to extend unwavering support and cooperation to the new leadership, particularly to those who contested alongside Comrade Alhassan Yahaya.
