Sokoto State government has distributed relief materials to the 66 victims kidnapped by the armed bandits.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto while presenting the materials and cash donations restated his administration’s commitment toward ending security challenges in the state.
In an effort to face the security challenges in the state Nigerian security have successfully rescued many kidnapped female and male victims in Gundumi forest of Isa local government of sokoto state .
During the mini ceremony at sokoto government house, the GOC 8 Div. Sokoto Brgd. Gen. Alex Tawasimi said they rescued the abductees at Gundumi forest and they will continue to do their best to ensure the protection of the lives and properties of the citizens in the state.
He thanked the state Governor for the support at all times for their success and assured to continue to discharge their duty as enshrined by the law.
In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto thanked God for yet another remarkable achievement, revealed that, his administration will remain resolute in ensuring the fighting of armed banditry in the state.
While commending the Nigerian Army for the effort, the Governor explained that, as a way of encouraging their government has just distributed security vehicles to security operatives to curve the menace.
The Governor said by passing the bill to establish the Community Corps in the state into law, the government would put more effort toward tackling the security threats in the state.
He appealed for more credible information from the general public toward tackling the menace.
The Governor said the victims were taken to the specialist Hospital soloto to ensure their health were in good condition adding that, the victims will go home with bags of rice, millet, and maize as well as #100 thousand naira each to 66 of them as a way of putting a smile to their faces.
The Governor reassured his administration’s determination to ensure fighting the cattle rustling, banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes.
APC leader in the state Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko presented cash donations and food items to selected six victims as a symbolic flagged-off.
Senator Wamakko commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for recording such remarkable achievements, adding that, that is what they have been yearning for before the election.
The Senator later donated ten million Naira to the victims in addition to the already presented ones by the state government, he also announced the donation of eight Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Divisional Police Officers in his constituency as part of measures to complement the government’s move to check-mate the security problems in the state.
Some victims and also beneficiaries of the gesture Sulaiman S/Noma and Lami Tsalha, thanked the Governor and the Senator for the gesture and prayed to Allah to continue to help them.
The mini-event was held at the premises of the government house Sokoto and had in attendance many personalities including the head of securities service working in the state.
