Sokoto Government shuts down Ifeoma Guest Inn indefinitely For Illegal Activities

Sokoto State government has ordered the immediately closure of a hotel, Ifeoma Guest Inn,  following reports by the Police in the state that the facility is used to perform illegal activities including the latest killing of a woman, Balkisu Garba, at the place.

On Thursday, the State Commissioner of Police, Ali Hayatu Kaigama, paraded a criminal, Saifullah Hassan of Gummi local government area of Zamfara State who was arrested over the killing the lady.

According to the Kaigama, one Mr John the manager of Ifeoma Hotel Phase 1 Old Airport Area Sokoto, reported that a woman identified as Balkisu Garba of Gidan Dare behind Jummat Mosque brought into the hotel by an unidentified guest was killed in a hotel room by the same man.

Acting on that, the State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has set up a committee comprising the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Jabir Sani Maihula, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Haruna Abbas Bashar, and security officials to investigate the hotel’s activities.

After visiting the hotel, the committee submitted a report, leading to the state government’s decision to shut down the hotel indefinitely.

It appears that the Sokoto State Government has taken decisive action against Hotel Ifeoma due to alleged illegal activities, including a recent incident involving the girl’s assignation.

The government has set up a committee to investigate and has subsequently shut down the hotel indefinitely.

He stated that preliminary investigations on receipt of the report Police operatives from the Old Airport Division led by the DPO swung into action as result the suspect’s bag which was abandoned after the act containing some receipts of payment and three mobile phone SIM cards were recovered which lead to arrest of the suspect.
