Sokoto Health Commissioner attends World Lift Health Conference in Darussalem

The Sokoto State Commissioner for Health, Asabe Balarabe was among eight hundred delegates that attended the 2024 Women lift Health Global Conference held in Darussalam, Tanzania.

Speaking at the conference, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe described it as timely and very significant as it would increase the knowledge of it’s participants on how best to overcome challenges and other critical issues on health sector in their respective states and countries.

She revealed that such conference would be an avenue for sourcing accurate and comprehensive documents that would further bring positive development in the health sector.

Asabe Balarabe hinted that already Sokoto State government had it own policy on health sector, adding that with the support of development partners remarkable achievements has been recorded so far.

Other speakers at the conference, Senior faculty centre for creative leadership, Sandhya Gupta, Programme Lead Women Lift, Professor Michelle Barry from Tanzania, stressed the need for collective action to change the narrative and re-imagined leadership in health sector.

The 2024, Women Lift Health Global Conference included health care givers, Public health practitioners, implementors and founders from different countries.

The Conference is poised as one of the largest platforms dedicated to addressing the multifaceted challenges impeding women’s progress in leadership roles in global health.

A statement from the Media Aid to the Sokoto State Commissioner for health Murjanatu Sa’idu Magaji said the Conference has in attendance Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmad Tinubu on health, Dr Salma Anas and Commissioner for health Kaduna State, Ummaru Ahmad among others.
