The Sokoto State Media Cooperation headed by the Managing Director, Labaran Lumu Dundaye, Wednesday, celebrated promotion and contribution of 125 staff of the organisation.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Alhaji Dundaye informed the gathering about hosting the maiden gathering and the reasons behind which included boosting the moral of staff especially on government activities.
Unconnected with their contributions, the managing director added that the gathering should acknowledge those who had performed their duties diligently during the Sallah celebrations
He further said they had presently lifted the frequency of Rima Television so that they can be seen and reached anywhere in the world.
“At the time I was made the MD, there were several dormant achievements that needed urgent attention but were left unattended”.
He challenged them to complement the efforts through dedication to work.
He then thanked the state government for appointing him as the managing director of the organisation and promised to complement through promoting the governor’s nine smart agenda and train youths on various skills connected with television, radio and newspaper works.
The ceremony was attended by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Sokoto Council chairman, Dalhatu Abdullahi Safiyal Magori, general manager Alu Ya Gode Media Cooperation, Bashar Abubakar, The Paths and Rima Radio managers and directors as well as couple of members of the Correspondent Chapel and hosts of friends and well-wishers of the cooperation.
