Thousands welcome Aliyu, Wamakko to Sokoto after Supreme Court victory

Thousands of Nigerians on Sunday welcomed Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu and former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Wamakko after triumphant Supreme Court judgement in Abuja.

They were received at Sultan Abubakar 111 International Airport by teeming ardent supporters, politicians and well-wishers.

The six kilometres journey from the Airport to Gawon Nama area took them three hours.

The elated crowd, comprising party enthusiasts and supporters, lined the routes eager to express their joy and solidarity with the Governor, following his legal victory at the Supreme Court.

While at Gawon Nama, the governor assured the crowd of his readiness to transform their lives, metropolis and local councils through provision of desired needs and promised during his campaign strategy.

He said he will not in any way deviate from the nine points agenda stated during his campaign, adding that health, agriculture, security, education top his agenda.

In a related development, Senator Wamakko assured the crowd that the present administration will do all it can to fulfill the promises earlier made and more.

At all the places stopped, special prayers were offered for Allah’s continued guidance to the governor and his administration.
