Waziri Umaru Polytechnic: NYCN congratulates Gov Idris over fellowship award

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Kebbi State chapter has congratulated Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State who was among the three top personalities conferred with fellowship by Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, during the 14th combined convocation of the institution on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The NYCN, in a statement signed by its chairman, Engr. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, described the honour done to the governor as a recognition of his sundry contributions to education in Kebbi state and Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that the latest honour would spur the governor to carry out more selfless services to the people of Kebbi State in education and youth empowerment, among others.

While congratulating the polytechnic for a successful convocation ceremony, the chairman also expressed gratitude to the management of the polytechnic, led by Dr. Usman Abubakar Tunga, for finding the governor worthy of the honour, which he said is well-deserved and a gesture of his recognition as a teacher and educationist.

The statement, however, added that it is line with their principle to identify with everything good in Kebbi state particularly education and youth empowerments which is the policy thrust of Idris Government.

“We the youth body in Kebbi State are behind the total overhaul of youth through various youth programmes being gradually implemented by Kebbi Government”, the statement added.
