A mother of two , Maryam Umar on Monday asked a Shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, to issue a formal determination regarding her divorce from her husband, Faisal Jibril.
The complainant also prayed the court to grant her custody of their two children saying she had finished her waiting period (Iddah).
On his part, the defendant said he divorced her once and returned her before she finished the three menstrual circle waiting period.
He claimed that she was still his wife since he had returned her back before she finished Iddah.
The Judge, Malam Mu’awiyya Shehu asked the complainant to produce her witnesses.
He adjourned to Nov. 13 for the complaint to present witnesses.(NAN)
