Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has directed the Chief of Defence Staff and other military chiefs to move to Sokoto which is the Headquarters of the GOC Sokoto. Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi states.
This is with the aim eradicating the menace of banditry in this axis of the country.
Banditry has for decades been crippling economy and social wellbeing of the people in this zone.
This is part of an intensified effort by the Federal Government to rid the North West of the menace of banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism among other ill vices affecting the states.
