Accolades for Hon Adekoya as Ago-Iwoye Stadium is listed to host New Year Mega Lottery

Accolades have continued to pour in for former Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya, as the Ago-Iwoye Stadium is listed as one of the facilities to host the New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One match play-off into NLO Division Two Under 19 Youth League.

Facilities to house the youth league was made public by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on 3rd September 2025.

In the letter from the Nigerian Football Association addressed to all States Football Associations and FCT dated September 1, 2023 signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Olushola Ogunnowo, the Ago-Iwoye stadium is to host teams from Osun, Lagos, Ekiti and Ondo states.

The Youth League Zonal play-off will take place from September 10 to 17, 2025 at the approved venues.

Hon Adekoya, popularly called Attacker) initiated and facilitated the construction of the stadium in the University town of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state, during his tenure as Reps Deputy Minority Whip.

The stadium is one out of many projects facilitated during his tenure as the representative of Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside at the green chamber of the National Assembly.

When the News broke on Wednesday that Ago-Iwoye stadium has been listed as one of the facilities to house the youth league many people took to the social media to applaud Hon Adekoya for his foresight in facilitating the construction of the stadium.

One of the exited Nigerians wrote from Abuja: “I’m seeing the various good things you are doing at/with the stadium, and may God crown all your efforts with success.

“In due time, you will definitely see our own massive contributions to what you have started in the facility.”

Another wrote “Kudos to Aremo Attacker (Adekoya).”
