The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Honourable Christopher Zakka Maikalangu has instructed his newly inaugurated campaign council to market his candidature through the infrastructural facilities his administration has provided as he seeks reelection for another four years.
Maikalangu gave this charge on Sunday, according to a press release issued in Abuja by Kingsley Madaki, the Special Assistant on Media to the AMAC chairman who doubles as head, Directorate of Media and Publicity, Maikalangu/Nadabo Campaign Organization (MCO).
According to the AMAC Chairman, “We are not going to the people with promises of what we can do, we are going with the evidence of what we have done; from the solar light projects at Nyanya, Gwarimpa and Orozo, to the massive road rehabilitations across our 12 electoral wards. Our work is our witness.
“I charge this Directorate to take this message to every nook and cranny of the council.”
The Chairman made it clear that the Directorate is empowered to lead, but will be held accountable for the mobilization and strategic outcomes in their respective domains.
Hon. Maikalangu reiterated a zero-tolerance policy for electoral violence or provocative language, insisting on a campaign based on “exemplary leadership and continuity.”
The team is tasked with highlighting the administration’s focus on rural electrification, healthcare access, and infrastructure as the primary arguments for a second term.
The Campaign Director, Hon. Muhammed Ribadu added that the task ahead of everyone is to go down the grassroots to conscientise the people about the numerous projects the Executive Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu has executed.
“We have the best candidate and we shall all do our best to deliver in February”.
Members of the campaign council include: Directors of ICT, Planning and Strategy, Strategic Communication and Social Media, Finance, Enforcement, Welfare, Security, Coalition of APC Support Groups, Geopolitical Zones, Youths, Women Affairs, Transport, Contact and Mobilisation, among others.
