Benue State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has extended its congratulations to the newly appointed Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, led by Terver Ikya.
Chairman of the the Benue SWAN chapter Hembadoon Orsar, in a statement expressed confidence in the leadership abilities of Ikya and his team.
Orsar in a statement signed by Terfa Alaaga, secretary of SWAN, made available to journalists Thursday in Makurdi, described Ikya as a true leader who will provide direction, guidance, solutions, and reassurance during critical times.
She advised Ikya to develop the ability to listen, build consensus, and embrace differing opinions because stating that such qualities distinguishes great leaders from merely effective ones.
The SWAN Chairman commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for selecting individuals who will overcome the odds and adversities to emerge as a force to be reckoned with in football, urging all members of the new management team to be persistent, pragmatic, and patient with one another.
She assured that SWAN would promote and project the activities of the IMC, geared towards achieving the Governor’s dreams of returning Lobi Stars to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), equally pledging to provide the new management the necessary media support to ensure their success.
