Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Nasir Idris, has commiserated with his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and the people of Borno state over the devastating flood that caused unimaginable havoc in the state.
In a sympathy message to Governor Zulum, Comrade Nasir Idris described the incident that cut across Borno State as highly devastating and unprecedented in the in the history of flood menace in recent years.
He consoled the governor to remain faithful and consider it as unavoidable act of God.
He noted that critical government institutions such as the Government House, teaching hospital, Shehu of Borno’s Palace, state secretariat, schools and business centres were reported to have been affected.
Governor Idris added that “Although, we in Kebbi have experienced similar unfortunate incident, we share your grief, and we are deeply pained by the natural disaster. ”
He prayed to Allah to replace the lost valuable properties of the victims and grant eternal rest to those who lost their lives.
Comrade Nasir recommended for the constitution of a high-powered committee of experts by the governments of the states prone to flood to collaborate with relevant federal government agencies and come up with lasting solution to the annual disaster.
Speaking further, the governor said that very soon Kebbi will make available donations to victims to mitigate their loses.
