Kebbi Government disburses N6bn economic stimulus package for food security

Kebbi State Government has disbursed the sum of N6 billion economic stimulus package for livelihood, food security to citizens of the state. 

The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abba Sani Kalgo announced this in Birnin Kebbi, Tuesday, at a news briefing.

Kalgo said as part of the oversight functions of the Ministry on Investment Promotion, focus would be concentrated on the competitive advantage of Kebbi State on agricultural production.

“The Executive Governor was at the head of delegation to Abidjan, Cote D’Ivore to facilitate the creation of an Agricultural Processing Zone in Kebbi State and we would follow up the matter to Abuja to actualise it. Agriculture is the game changer in Kebbi”, he explained.

Dr. Kalgo was proud that Kebbi emerged the second state nationwide to prepare the 2024 budget while the quarterly performance report, ending 31st March, recorded remarkable implementation.

He made it clear that Kebbi was among top performing states in Cares Programme, assuring that Governor Nasir Idris has taken the requisite action and enabling reform to make the state haven for investment.

Furthermore, the government has met all eligibility criteria to continue the 2025 implementation of the scheme.
