Late Sen Nwaoboshi was a resolute democrat and devout stalwart – APC

By Moses Okorie

The All Progressives Congress (APC) said it is deeply saddened by the death of Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi who passed on recently the age of 67.

In a condolence message signed Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary, APC said Sen. Nwaoboshi was a veteran politician, a resolute democrat and devout stalwart of the party.

Sen. Nwaoboshi became the first APC Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District when he decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in June 2021.

He was a two-term Delta State Chairman of the PDP. As pioneer Secretary of the PDP in Delta State, he bolstered and entrenched the structure of the party in deft moves that earned him the sobriquet of “political oracle”, as he was fondly called.

“In his service as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta, he championed the cause of economic empowerment for his people as he promoted even development of the entire region.

“Sen. Nwaoboshi leaves behind an indelible record of exceptional public service to country. A grassroots mobilizer, fearless advocate for equity, inclusion and fairness, his passing has created a deep void that would be difficult to fill.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, political associates, the government and good people of Delta state during this difficult time”, APC said.
