Hotel manager has reported to the Sokoto State Police Command about the killing of a woman named Balkisu Garba in their facility by an unidentified guest.
Mr. John the manager of Ifeoma Hotel Old Airport Area Sokoto reported that the woman identified as Balkisu Garba of Gidan Dare behind Jumu’at Mosque was brought into the hotel by an unidentified guest and was slaughtered in a hotel room by the same man.
On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police officer swiftly swung into action, as a result, the suspect forgot a bag containing receipts of payment and the mobile phone SIM cards.
The items led to the arrest of the suspect.
Subsequently, another criminal act by the suspected bandits who invaded Badon Runji Area Sokoto and kidnapped one Barrister Rukayya Mustapha and one Salim Abdulsalam were arrested.
Kaigama informed newsmen that the police operatives from Yabo Division in conjunction with Military and Vigilante Group acted on credible information and rescued the Barrister.
The team went to the den of bandits around Binji axis where they traced footprints that led to arrest of the kidnappers after exchange of gun battle.
At the end, 10 rounds of live ammunition, 2 solar panel, 1 Tecno Mobile phone and blanket were recovered at the scene.
The Commissioner then commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for his tremendous support throughout this investigation and the good people of Sokoto State of their continuous cooperation and contributions while the investigation last.
CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama also commended the dedication of the officers and men of the Command for their tireless performances and urged the public to cooperate with the police through providing vital information to aid the fight against crime, as security is everybody’s’ business.
He assured collaborative work with sister agencies.
