The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, in Kebbi State has enlighten a group of small and medium enterprises, NASME, who were on a courtesy visit to the office in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking to the guest, the state coordinator of NAFDAC, Alhaji Sulaiman Muyideen tasked them on the need to come to the office to officially register, while those who already registered should renew their licences or risk being mopped up.
He reminded them to use the waiver period to register or renew their licences as the office at the end of March 2024 will begin to clamp down on unregistered SMSEs in the state saying the law that applies to water factories also applies to SMSEs.
He expressed satisfaction with their visit describing them as law-abiding otherwise they would not think of coming to the office but kicked against some existing SMSEs that have relocated due to marriage or jobs.
He revealed that those who relocated and continue with production without turning up at NAFDAC office at their new places are operating illegally.
Suleman decried the reduction of small businesses in the state due to relocation or refusal to renew licences.
