OPS Zenda JTF rescues 50-year-old kidnap victim in Benue

Personnel of Operation Zenda Joint Taskforce, JTF, have disclosed that it has rescued a 50- year- old man whose identify was not given at the time of this report from the hands of his abductors at Tine Nune in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

Officer Commanding OPS Zenda JTF SP Felix Nomiyugh, who made the disclosure while interacting with journalists in his office in Makurdi, said the victim was rescued as a result of quick response intervention.

He said members of the Joint Taskforce, JTF working on quick response mechanism stormed the scene of the incident, adding that on sighting the team, the kidnappers abandoned their victim who he said was rescued but still in comma.

SP Nomiyugh, acknowledged that four months after assumption as the commanding officer OPS Zenda, JTF, it has not been easy fighting crime but maintained that officers under his command have been doing their best, expressing optimism that the Joint Taskforce, JTF under his command would continue to serve the people to ensure a crime-free society.

He emphasized the need for synergy between police officers and members of the public for the purpose of information cross fertilization which is key to fighting criminality, adding that he has made it a policy for personnel under his watch to imbibe approachable culture for a smooth operation with members of the public for easy operations, warning that the public should not take the simplicity as weakness.

The commanding officer OPS Zenda JTF who assured members of the Benue community that the Joint Taskforce, JTF would continue to work for the safety of people in the state, declared that his doors are always open for genuine collaboration with members of the public, especially the media to ensure a crime free society.
