Ohanaeze Nd’igbo FCT unveils cooperative society for Igbo people

The Ohanaeze Nd’Igbo, FCT Abuja Chapter has unveiled its Cooperative Society for all people of Igbo extraction living in Abuja.

The cooperative was unveiled by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Engagement, South East, Barrister Chioma Nweze on Saturday,  June 29, 2024, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council,  Maitama, Abuja.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony,  her husband, Mr. Ogbu Nweze, encouraged Igbo people living in Abuja to  develop savings culture and appreciated them for coming together to form cooperative.

He made a donation to unveil the cooperative, and advised his kinsmen to always support the government in power in order to reap the benefits of the government, because they are also citizens of Nigeria.

Mr. Nweze who had over 25 years in the banking sector especially Diamond Bank and Access Bank served as the regional manager for South East and South South at different times.

On his part, the President,  Ohanaeze Nd’Igbo FCT Chapter, Barrister Ifeanyi Obasi-Nweze, said money an individual saves with the cooperative belongs to the person, and any time the association gets grant either from the government or any other organisation, the money would be shared and paid directly into the account numbers of all those concerned.

The meeting of June was well attended by members of Ohanaeze Nd’Igbo, and members expressed great pleasure with leadership of Ohanaeze Nd’ Igbo in the FCT for coming up with such laudable programme.
