As Nigerians moved into the 2024, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on the people of the Nasarawa state to remain steadfast, committed to the peace and unity of the state.

The party has also appealed to the residents to eschew bitterness, resist any form of provocations, shun religious sentiments, ethnic propaganda in the interest of Nasarawa State.

PDP in a statement by the state Chairman, Francis Orogu explained that the appeal has become neccesary in view of the pending challenges confronting the state.

“As we move into the new year 2024, as well as awaiting the Supreme Court governorship election judgement, we must put behind us any action capable of breaching the peace and unity of the state, forge a friendly religious, ethnic and clandestine propaganda in our dear state.

“Residents of the state owed it a duty to refrain from encouraging an ember of disunity, religious sentiments and embrace prayers to ensure that the state remain peace irrespective of our religious belief.

“We therefore call for a change in Nasarawa State where few people take delight in stealing the joy and unity given to us. We will continue to pray to God who will listen to our supplications and do his will in Nasarawa State.

“Our God Almighty is always ahead of every principality. The will of God shall prevail and put to shame those insisting on taking the people’s freedom and joy in Nasarawa.

The statement, while expressing the optimism that the mandate genuinely given for a positive change in Nasarawa would be delivered by the Supreme Court in the interest of justice, equity, and fair play.

“We in PDP believed in the ability and capability of the judiciary to deliver a decision in the governorship. Therefore, we wish at this time to advise our supporters and the entire residents of the state to remain united, steadfast, and committed to their quest for a united Nasarawa state.”

“We are a party made up of your caring sons and daughters, we are not in power but all our party elders and members took time to visit and share with the people according to how they are blessed by God.”
