Sokoto Government, UNICEF, musicians partner on polio eradication

Sokoto State Government, UNICEF, 12 renowned musicians have collaborated on ‘No More Zero Dose’ song to eradicate polio in Nigeria so as to advocate for vaccination to protect children from preventable diseases.

Commissioner for Healthof the state, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe, commended UNICEF’s efforts and pledged the state’s continued support.

The Special Adviser to Sokoto State on Primary Health Care Development Agency,  PHCDA, Hon. Bello Garba and the Executive Secretary emphasized polio’s devastating impact and urged stakeholders to partner in its eradication.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information; Muhammad Ibrahim K. advocated for media collaboration to disseminate the message towards polio eradication in the state.

Ghani Abdullahi said the ‘No More Zero Dose’ song highlights the urgent need to boost immunisation coverage in West and Central Africa; a region with the lowest vaccination rates in the world.
